Can Standard 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch be Used in Factory Prep Package in 2014 Ford F-350

Question:

My new truck has the 5th prep and towing kit. And I already have a Reese 20K hitch that was on the rail system in my old truck. Does reese have any plans to offer some sort of adapter in the future so I dont have to purchase all over again? Id like to stick with Reese, but if no option becomes available, I guess I will have to look for other options.

Reese does have an adpater available that will allow you to use your 5th wheel hitch that fits in above the bed rails with the under-bed Elite Series factory installed system. The adapter you will need is # RP30156. But if you have the old round tube slider (it will be black) it will not fit this adapter. The new round tube slider, like the one on hitch # RP30075, will fit.

If you have a square tube slider it will fit. If you wanted to swap out the old round tube slider base for the new one then the new one is # RP50024 but I would have to know which model hitch you currently have to determine if it will fit on the new base.
