Does The Exhaust Have to Be Lowered When Installing Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver On 2022 Toyota RAV4?
Question:
Hello, I have the Rav4 2022 Hybrid XLE. I have heard talk of folks having to remove the exhausts to install the Hitch. I only have basic tools available and plan on jacking the car up on both sides in the rear for the installation. Do you foresee any issues like us having to remove the rear exhausts for the installation? Any other tips that you can provide would be helpful. -Thanks

The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13416 can be installed on your 2022 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid XLE without having to lower the exhaust. It will be easier to lift it into place with a 2nd set of hands to get around one of the exhaust tips and then the second. I recommend using a Nylon Brush # 814092 to clean out the threads on the frame nuts to prevent the chances of damaging the hardware during installation.
I recommend installing the Curt Vehicle Wiring Harness # C56434 when you install the receiver. It will be easier to route through the floor and secure to the receiver with the Mounting Bracket # C58001 if you prefer to not have it run through the rear lift gate when needed.
