Helpful Expert Reply:

I recommend going with Blue Ox Base Plate because typically the Blue Ox kits are a bit less complicated to install and the hook-up procedure between the vehicle and tow bar requires fewer or no tools. If your 2013 Ford Focus is a non-ST model without Adaptive Cruise Control, you will want to use # BX2633. If your Focus is an ST, you will want to use # BX2640.

The Blue Ox Alpha, part # BX7365 would be an excellent tow bar for you. The tow bar swivels for easy connections, even when the terrain is not completely flat. The telescoping and auto-locking bars make connecting the base plates easier, the vehicle does not need to be perfectly aligned behind the RV in order to make the connection. The tow bar will also easily fold up against the rear of the RV for storage when not in use. As an added benefit, the Alpha includes safety cables, so you will not need to purchase them separately.

In addition to the tow bar, base plates and safety cables, you will also need a lighting solution and a supplemental braking system. I have linked you to some FAQ articles with more information about lighting and braking systems, as well as an article about flat towing in general.
