Gooseneck Hitch Ball for 2019 Ram 3500 Least Likely to Get Stuck in Coupler

Question:

My living quarters 4 horse trailer continues to periodically get stuck on my Curt 2 5/16inch OEM puck system ball in my 2019 Ram 3500. My trailer uses a dual leg bigfoot hydraulic lift system. I have changed the OEM gooseneck hitch that came with the trailer to a Shocker Air-Ride receiver, however, it got stuck on it now. I have deduced that the hitch ball is at fault since I have changed the receiver to no avail. The ball is satisfactory lubricated and presents no sharp edges or anything to catch on. Have you ever heard of something so confounded ? Any recommendations short of changing the ball to a BandW ?

Since the ball has gotten stuck with both couplers that seems to indicate that it is the root of the problem. I can't say we've seen this problem before though so it's hard to say why it's happening. Is there any evidence of what the ball is hanging up on possibly? The B and W ball that fits the OEM rail kit of your 2019 Ram 3500 part # BWGNXA2062 doesn't have any latches or mechanisms on top of it though so I can't see how a coupler could get stuck on it so it would be the simplest fix for you.
