Replacement Winch for Superwinch X1 With Bad Handheld Switch

Question:

I have an X1 superwinch and the handheld switch is bad. It is a three prong plugin so wouldnt I need a new handheld switch and the receptical that it plugs into,

The plug for the newer switches is only designed for newer models. According to my contact at Superwinch, you cannot make one of the new switches work with the old X1. I also found that there are no replacement options available since all of the parts have been discontinued. Unfortunately, that means the only way to get a new handheld switch is total replacement.

For a replacement, I recommend the Bulldog Winch Utility Winch # BDW15008. This has the same 2,000 lb capacity and comes with a 50' galvanized steel cable. This winch also uses a hand-held remote and comes with a 2-year warranty.
