Troubleshooting A Lippert Ground Control 3.0 Leveling System That Is Giving A RR/LR Error Code

Question:

The controller side of my fifth wheel says RR jack fault.. I am able to raise and lower it manually with a 3/8 ratchet. But when I switch the RR and LR plugs in the control board.. I get a LR fault code. I’m assuming the motor is bad at this point?

If you're getting a RR or LR fault code with your Lippert Ground Control 3.0 Electric 5th Wheel RV Leveling System w Touchpad and Remote # LC358590 or # LC675817, then that is indicating that there is an error at that specific jack (right rear / left rear).

Likely there is something causing a signal issue such as a open ground or a short circuit between the controller and the motor.

To determine what should be done, I recommend you check your harness connections at the controller and the jack. You're going to want to be looking for any damage such as frayed or broken wires, as well as any loose grounds.

If you determine there to be damage, simply repair or replace the wiring as needed and check for functionality.

I also recommend checking the fuses at the controller, and ensure that they are not blown or damaged. If they are, replace and check again.

Finally, if there isn't any wiring issues and everything is in good working order, then you have a bad motor and will need to be replaced with the:

-Replacement Hall Effect Motor for Lippert Components Ground Control 3.0 Leveling System # LC343758.
