Where Should The Pivot Arms Be Installed On A B&W Companion In A Long Bed Truck
Question:
We have a 2020 Ram Laramie Longhorn 3500 HD diesel dually long bed with factory puck system…where should the Bandw companion have the king pin centered?? Slightly in front of or directly over the axle? Will be towing a 42 ft Vanleigh.

When putting your B&W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Hitch for Ram Towing Prep Package # BWRVK3600 together you do have a few options for the pivot arm placement to accommodate different length beds. Since you have a long bed you're going to be good with the pivot arms in the "over axle" position.
Long bed trucks typically have more than enough clearance for the truck to be able to make a 90 degree turn without the nose of the trailer coming into contact with the cab of the truck. If you had a short bed truck you could adjust the pivot arms to gain 2" - 4" of clearance.
I've attached the pivot arm placement chart below as well as a video where Shane will help walk you through installing the pivot arms. If you have any other questions please feel free to shoot them my way.
