Bike racks suitable for use on RVs and motor homes are designed specifically for use on such vehicles because those racks will endure much more vertical and lateral force during normal driving. The longer the distance from the rear axle to the carrier the more sway and bounce the rack will have to tolerate. You can think of the difference in riding comfort from a seat at the front of a bus compared to a rear seat, which has a much bumpier ride.

The motor home bike carriers we offer include hitch-mount, bumper-mount and ladder-mount types. You can view all such items using the link provided. Although we do offer spare-tire-mount bike racks for automobiles none of these is suitable for use on an RV because of the extreme forces at the rear of the motor home. Even if there were a spare-tire-mount carrier suitable for use on your Navion, it is unlikely that it could be used without interference with the loaded cargo in your hitch-mount cargo carrier.

Based on my research I believe your Navion has a ladder at the passenger side rear. You may therefore prefer a ladder-mount bike rack. We offer four such products and all are dual arm, hanging-style racks that mount the bikes at their frames. The other link provided will show you all four. You will want to confirm the weight of your bikes before selecting a carrier since carrier weight capacities vary. The Surco # SP501BR can hold up to 75-lbs total bike weight, while the Stromberg-Carlson # LA-102 has a 50-lb weight limit.
