Troubleshooting An EC Error Code On A Fogatti Tankless Water Heater

Question:

Water heater doesn’t come on . Then sometimes it does come on with the controller turned on sometimes the heater will work with the controller turned off. In the morning I have to remove the fuse for an hour then it will work for two showers back to back then the heater stops then I have to do the whole procedure over again. Can’t move the temperature up or down. Also the letters Ec are on the screen. Some times goes from Ec to full display then back and forth. Very frustrated! Can you help?

It sounds to me like the controller may be the issue and that you're getting a communication error between the Fogatti RV Tankless Water Heater # LSB64FR and controller.

I recommend first checking your wiring and ensuring there is no damage, kinks, and/or bends in the wiring and that there's no loose connections at the water heater or controller. If there isn't then I recommend reaching out to the manufacturer for a replacement controller.

Another thing to check is your propane supply. If you're dipping below the 8" WC while in use then that could throw off your water heater's functionality. I recommend having a licensed technician check your propane water column after the regulator. If it's too low they may need to adjust or replace your regulator.
