MORryde Shock Absorbing Equalizer & Suspension Upgrade Fit For 42 Inch Axle Spacing
Question:
I am looking to beef up the suspension on my North Trail 22FBS. My axles are Dexter 3500 lb Wide Trax 42 inch axle spacing axles. The current equalizer is 14 ¾ inch shackle to shackle spacing and my links are 2 ¼ inches long. The components Im looking at now are the MorRyde equalizer MR34AR? and Shackle kit with wet bolts MR58ZR? In researching the wet bolts I see the MorRyde bolts are 9/16, but my current bolts are 7/16 inch diameter. My question is will the MorRyde bolts work on my trailer ie: the plastic bushings are that much thicker than the MorRyde bronze bushings? My concern is I order parts that dont fit. Also, Im interested if you have any other suggestions for upgrading my suspension keeping in mind that I have the 42 inch axle spacing. Thanks

You are right on with the equalizer kit you need for your 42 inch axle spacing, though the correct upgrade kit is going to be different than the # MR58ZR. What you will need is the following:
- MORryde 14-3/4" Shock Absorbing Equalizers for Tandem Axle Trailers w/ 42" Wheelbase # MR34AR
- MORryde Suspension Upgrade Kit for Tandem Axle Trailers - 2-1/4" Long Shackle Straps # MR46ZR
The # MR46ZR is correct for the upgrade kit as opposed to the # MR58ZR (which is only for trailers that already have the Correct Track alignment).
As for the wet bolts, they will fit in the # MR34AR equalizers, but your leaf springs need to have an eye diameter of 11/16" (without the bushings) for the bushings to fit. So your current bolt size doesn't matter so long as the diameter of your spring eye is 11/16" without the bushings.
If it is different you'd need new 3,500 lb leaf springs with eye diameters of 11/16". To get the right one you need to match the measurement from center-to-center of the spring eyes, and keep in mind that springs elongate over time so you may need one a bit shorter than what you currently measure. The available lengths (with the measurement being center to center of the spring eyes) are 23-1/8" Long # e59SR, 25-1/8" Long # e54SR, and 27" Long # e97SR.
