Attaching Reverse Lead to 7-Way Trailer Connector on 2006 Toyota RAV 4
Question:
I have a 2006 Rav4. Im wiring it up for a 7 pin adapter. I have all the info to connect the 4 pin, the hot lead, and the brake controller, but I cant find any info on how to hook up the back up lights. I dont know if you have any specific info for the06 Rav4, or if you have some general information about how to connect that up, and if you need any special equipment, fuses, or anything like that.

I do not have any information specific to the RAV4, but the connection is simple enough. Access the rear of the taillight assembly as if you were replacing a bulb, and locate the the wire leading to the back up lamp. You can verify this connection by using a circuit tester such as part # 40376 to ensure that the circuit goes hot when the transmission is placed in reverse. Tap a wire into this circuit, and run it to the 7-Way connector.
