would it be possible to carry 1 snowboard and 2 pairs of skis with a 1/4inch reciever?

The Thule Tram Carrier # TH9033 can carry 2 pair of skis and 1 snowboard. I confirmed this with my technical contact at Thule. I have attached a brief installation video of this carrier.

The main caution here is that you do not go over the tongue weight limit on your hitch receiver. Please be aware that the weight of the bike rack, the Tram carrier, your skis and snowboard all combined cannot exceed the tongue weight rating of the hitch.

There should be a safety sticker on the hitch to indicate its capacity. If you cannot confirm the tongue weight capacity for your vehicle hitch please either check your owners manual or contact your local vehicle dealership. Going over the recommended tongue weight capacity can possibly damage the hitch, your vehicle, the hitch mounted accessories or your snow sport gear.
