Carrying Mobility Scooter with 2010 Kia Soul

Question:

I have a 2010 KIA Soul. I already have a mobility scooter, but need a hitch and carrier for the scooter. I need a 2 section ramp 28 1/4inch w x 60inch long and need a class 2 or 3 hitch. Do you have this type of hitch and would it fit my KIA Soul?

As you can see, there are no Class II or III hitches available for the Soul as the rear structure of the vehicle cannot support the towing or tongue weight that a Class II or III hitch would be rated for. The weight of the scooter plus the weight of any carrier would far exceed the capacity of the hitch, and would cause the hitch and probably the vehicle to be damaged. For this reason, there are no scooter carriers rated for use with a Class I hitch.

Your best alternatives would be to either use a different vehicle that can use a Class III hitch or to install a Class I hitch like the Draw-Tite # 24839 use a small trailer like # K2MMT5X7.
