Recommended Ladder Rack For A 2017 Ram 1500 With Hard Folding Tonneau Cover

I’m looking for truck racks for my 2017 Dodge Ram that will work with a hard flip up tonneau cover. Stake pocket style mount? I want to use it to transport a couple of kayaks while towing our rv behind. Because of the rv I’m concerned the kayaks need to reach over the cab of the truck. Im hoping to find something somewhere in the $500-1000 dollar range. Please let me know if you have anything that would fit my needs. Thank you in advance for your help. Best regards

You're correct that you'll need to use a stake pocket mounted ladder rack to fit a ladder rack in with your tonneau cover, but you'll need to ensure that your tonneau cover sits inside the bedrails with very limited overlap so that the ladder rack has room to sit in the stake pockets.

The Adarac Pro Series Custom Truck Bed Ladder Rack # A35WG, for example, is compatible with most inside-the-bedrail type tonneau covers. It has rails that mount in the stake pockets that will allow you to slide the uprights to fit your needs or easily be removed when not needed. The uprights are 26" in tall so you can measure from the top of the bed rails to your cab to ensure that they'll be tall enough for your kayaks to clear it.

This specific model is for a 5-1/2' bed, if you have a different size then you'll need the # A42WG (6-1/2' bed) or the # A24JG (8' bed).
