Trailer Hitch Recommendation For A 2019 Ram ProMaster 3500
Question:
We have a 2019 Winnebago Travato built on the 2019 Ram Promaster 3500 EXT chassis. The Curt 350/3500 hitch that comes factory installed needs to be reinforced people use brackets bolted or welded to the frame rails if using bike racks/baskets. Ive seen people instead install a Draw-Tite #76050 500/5000 hitch that does not require reinforcing or welding to the frame. Is the Draw-Tite #76050 made of better steel or inherently stronger than the Curt? I watched the install video for the Draw-Tite hitch and it doesnt look to be attached to the vehicle much different than the Curt hitch is.

The Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 76050 is made out the same steel as the Curt Hitch.
The Draw-Tite Hitch has an easy bolt-on installation with no welding required. The hitch just bolts on differently. The Drawtite hitch also has a concealed cross tube that gives it a more clean factory look after the hitch is installed. The trailer hitch has a black powder coat finish that covers a e-coat base that offers a superior rust protection.
The hitch has a maximum tongue weight up to 500 pounds.
