Troubleshooting Brake Lights And Turn Signals On A 2019 GMC Sierra
Question:
My 2019 GMC Sierra worked trailer lights just fine. When a trailer that had a short in the taillight circuit was connected the taillight circuit from the truck quit working. The wiring harness on the trailer was repaired but the circuit from the truck still will not work.

I recommend starting by testing that the circuit on the 7 way connector of your truck by using the Circuit Tester # PTW2993. There is a chance you're not going to get any power on the circuit when you press the brake or engage the turn signals, if that is the case you will want to trace the wiring back to the rear of the plug and make sure that they are connected to the correct lights on the truck.
If that doesn't work I recommend checking under the hood and replace the tail light fuse if needed.
