Should I Use 78" Yakima OverHaul HD Ladder Rack on 2021 Ford F-150

Question:

Ive measured the bed width. It appears that the 78inch bars would be roughly the same width as the exterior of the box. 68inch would be narrower than box...but still wider than the top of the cab. Is there any reason to be concerned about the width of the 78? Ive seen from other recommendations that the 78 wouldnt have the load capacity on the outboard part... it would be enough for bikes, etc. I mainly intend to haul two kayaks just dawned on me... wonder if wide bars would fit three. Beyond that.. it would be building materials or other odd stuff as need be.

If the 78" crossbars that come with the Yakima OverHaul HD Adjustable Truck Bed Ladder Rack # Y01151-59 are the same width as the bed on your 2021 Ford F-150 then I recommend using the longer bars. Even if you don't load anything on the outboard section of the crossbars this kit gives you greater versatility so you can continue using it on future trucks.
