What Powers The Diodes In A Diode Wiring Kit

Question:

I purchased everything I need to flat tow my vehicle from you. Im about to hook up the lights on a 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee so I can flat tow. The Jeep, when not started, pressing the brake pedal the brake lights activate. So when I put a diode in series with the brake light and I hook up to my RV when I activate the brakes in the RV and the air force one engages the towed vehicles brake pedal, I will have 12 v from the tow vehicle and 12 volts from the RV feeding the diode. Is this a problem on the output side of the diode?

The diode wiring isn't going to be wired in series so you won't have to worry about the voltage increasing. It will only be powered by the 7-way of your motorhome when the brakes or the turn signals are activated on the motorhome. I've attached a video below where Ryan will walk you through the installation of your diode wiring.

Since your 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee has combined wiring and an unusable brake light switch wire you'll need the Roadmaster Stop Light Switch Kit # RM-751449 (WK Models) or the RoadMaster Stop Light Switch Kit # RM77RR (WL Models) to prevent the brake signal from overriding your turn signal.

Your Demco Air Force One Supplemental Braking System for Motor Homes with Air Brakes # SM99243 is going to activate off of the air brakes on your motorhome and will be separate from your tail light wiring.
