Swing Away Bike Rack Recommendation for Yuba El Mundo Cargo Bike on Class B Motorhome
Question:
Im looking for a load assist ramp or electric rack to carry a cargo style e-bike Yuba El Mundo. The bikes frame parts are pretty large and oval - not circular/tubular, and it has fenders. I want to use it on a Ford Transit Connect cargo van which has rear doors not a hatch. Im pretty sure that tilting a rack down would still restrict door opening. Would you agree with that? And if so, can any of the load assist ramp or electric racks be used with a swing-away hitch adapter? Thanks again!

I definitely have a solution for you but you'll have to do some heavy lifting on your end as all of the bike racks that have ramps aren't able to accommodate the 55.5" wheelbase of your Yuba El Mundo e-bike.
The best solution for your Yuba El Mundo and Ford Transit Connect is the Kuat Pivot 2 Swing Away Hitch Extender # PVP20B and the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE Bike Rack for 2 Electric Bikes # HLY84FR.
The Pivot 2 was designed for Transit and ProMaster applications like yours and then the Sport Rider SE can hold 2 bikes up to 80 lbs each with a max wheelbase of 60" plus this has a ratcheting hook that comes down over the top tube of your rack - this is the only option I know of that can accommodate your larger bike. It is worth noting that if your Yuba El Mundo has running boards you'll need to remove one side for this to fit.
Attached are some review videos for you to check out.
