Gooseneck Adapter Plate Recommendation for 2013 Chevy Silverado Short Bed
Question:
Looking to purchase a gooseneck adapter plate to fit my 5th wheel rails to move an old hay trailer 10k max. Do I need an offset ball or a center ball plate? Or does it even matter? 2013 2500HD Silverado CC 6.6 bed

For your application I recommend picking up the 25K Curt Above-Bed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch for Fifth Wheel Rails # 16055 which features a 3" offset. The only time you really need an offset is if the trailer body is going to make contact with the truck cab during normal turns (up to 90 degrees). Since this is for a gooseneck trailer where there isn't a big body like what we see with a 5th wheel trailer you should be just fine with the 3" offset.
