Replacement Leaf Springs For a 2016 Gulf Stream Single Axle Travel Trailer With 4,000LB Axle

Question:

Hello. I got trapped with a broken right side leaf spring one month ago in Nova Scotia, Canada. We were in a isolated area far from everything. Finally I found two leaf springs 26 inches eye to eye and repair were done almost on the beach. But I don’t know if those springs are correct for my rv trailer Gulf stream 2016 19 feet with only one axle 4000 pounds. When I bought them, they were curved but now on the trailer, they are almost flat. I took many pictures with the trailer down on the ground and up on a jack. Here are the specs of my trailer : GVWR =4325 pounds, load capacity= 1098 pounds, GAWR= 4000 pounds, curb weight of the rv trailer =3227 pounds. The new leaf springs are 4 leafs, 26 inches eye to eye, thickness of the blades is 5/16 inches, total thickness of 1 1/4 inches, 1 3/4 inches wide. On the spring, some words and numbers are written : ML-042-00 capital and JH China 10/21. I have many pictures available if you want. Can you help me with that please.

Helpful Expert Reply:

The ML-042-00 springs you got do not have the capacity your 2016 Gulf Stream requires. Those springs are only rated for a 3,500lbs capacity. I recommend replacing those springs with the correct 4,000LB Springs # e57SR so you will not have the springs go flat. These Springs have a 25-1/4" eye to eye measurement and your current springs have a 25-1/8" eye to eye measurement.
