Recommended Ladder Rack For A 2019 Chevy Colorado With A Lomax Tonneau Cover

Hello- 20192 Chevy Quad Cab owner looking to maximize some gear options for a family of 4. I have researched and decided that the Lomax Stance is the best option for me in a bed cover. I need extra security for musical gear and weather control as well as the flexibility it provides. The Renegade is my first choice but just way out of budget. However, if it would save me enough on auxilary racks since I could strap to the top ideal situation I might go that route. Only the Renegade and Diamondback offer this feature as far as I know. Im hoping to figure out a system for cargo that would include dual kayak and basket/carrier/bag type loading either on top of the cab or above the rack below the kayaks. The kayak hitch seems a good option if I could combine it with low profile sliding and removable cross bars for the bed. Does this exist? If so can I use it in tandem with the Lomax? I have considered a roof rack but I havent seen an option that I like. I know the Adarac rack is the obvious option but its so ugly. If I were to go with a non removable option I would love something like the Erickson over the cab. Is this compatible with the Lomax? Thanks for processing so much info. I know its a bit confusing. Im just getting tired of looking at the internet.

When it comes to ladder rack and tonneau cover compatibility it typically comes down to how the ladder rack mounts to the bedrails of the truck. In most cases if the ladder rack mounts to the lip of the bedrails it will prevent any tonneau covers from being able to be mounted. Typically this limits you to very few options, especially if you're not wanting to break the bank.

The Erickson Over-The-Cab Truck Bed Ladder Rack # EM07707 is going to block any tonneau cover from mounting so you would not be able to use this with a Lomax tonneau cover.

The Thule TracRac SR Sliding Truck Bed Ladder Rack # TH43002XT-783 is a much nicer version of the Adarac ladder racks you were looking at and can more easily slide to accommodate your needs, but Thule isn't known for being economically priced.

Other than that you would have to use an Adarac like # A4000950 to be able to also use a Lomax tonneau cover.
