Solera Slide-Out Awning Recommendation for 55" Wide Slide-Out on 2022 KZ RV Durango D256RKT

Question:

Im trying to determine the size slide out toppers I need. My 2022 KZ D256RKT is prepped for the topper in that they have installed the rail that the fabric slides into on the trailer. The recommended topper for a slide out flange to flange width of 55 is 66 or fabric width 61. If I install Solera V000168104 which is the smallest available, I will have 8 of excess fabric extending past the rail rail is 53 and fabric is 61. Is it okay for the fabric to extend past the rail edge?

If the flange to flange width of the slide out on your 2022 KZ D256RKT is 55" then whoever installed the rail didn't install one long enough as the rails needs to extend out past the flanges so you have complete coverage over your slide out.

For your application I recommend picking up the Solera RV Slide-Out Awning # LC23FR which is a black awning designed for slide outs up to 60" wide. This comes with the correct rail for this fabric length so everything will match up nicely instead of the fabric being longer than the rail (which isn't okay).
