For a hitch with that kind of capacity that you can install on your 2012 Thor Challenger Motorhome you will need the Draw-Tite Ultra Frame Service Body Trailer Hitch Receiver # 41990-07. This Class V hitch fits frames up to 44". It has a maximum gross trailer weight of 16,000 lbs and tongue weight of 1,600 lbs.
This is a universal hitch so that means a weld-on installation. It includes 7" tall weld-on mounting brackets and may require additional fabrication to fit your frame.. If you need taller brackets, the # 41990-16 is also available with 16" brackets. I recommend taking this to a certified welder for the installation. Keep in mind, you will be limited by the towing capacity of your motorhome.
