Gooseneck Pin Does Not Line Up with Socket On B&W Companion Slider Gooseneck-to-5th-Wheel Hitch

Question:

I just purchased a bandw companion for a 19 f250 and when I go to install it seems the companion is too high and the pin in the gooseneck hits Socket post on the companion and won’t go through it’s about 1/4” off. Is there a way to lower the base or is there a longer socket post I can get?

Expert Reply:

If the latching pin for the gooseneck hitch does not line up with the socket on the B&W Companion Slider Gooseneck-to-5th-Wheel Trailer Hitch Adapter part # BWRVK3400 you'll need to make sure the plastic feet on the bottom of the base are adjusted so they sit inside the bed corrugations and not on top and make sure the drawdown bolt is loose. So long as both are true then the hitch should just drop into place.
