Size of Nut to Remove Shims on Demco 5th Wheel Rail Adapter

Question:

What is the size of the nut that you have to remove on the RAM version in order to remove shims? This is for a 2022 RAM 3500. In addition, if the handle turns too easy freely moves, should we add a shim to that handle?

To add/remove a shim on the Demco 5th Wheel Rail Adapter # DM6099 for your 2022 Ram 3500 you'll need to remove the 3/4" nut on the top as well as the four 3/8" bolts that help to hold the shims in place.

If you removed a shim but you think the handle turns a little too easily for your liking then you can add the shim back in place but I wouldn't add than the 2 that it would already have. Keep in mind that the handle will be held in place with a quick release pin so once you have the adapter installed that handle shouldn't be moving anyways.
