Blue Ox Compatible Base Plate for a 2018 JL Jeep Unlimited
Question:
I have a 2018 JL Jeep unlimited sport! I have a blue ox tow bar and a brake buddy I picked up used! What base plate will work best? I’m mechanical and can install it! What choice is best for my application! Thanks much . Also have the electrical cable 7 pin to 6 pin. What wiring harness will work best for me?

Since you have a Blue Ox tow bar, the best base plate for your 2018 Jeep JL Unlimited Sport is going to be the Blue Ox Base Plate Kit item # BX1139. This kit works if you have the factory steel or plastic bumper. I have linked an installation video below so you can understand the process.
If you have an Off-Road bumper - with 7/8 inch D-Ring bumper mounts you will need the item # BX88357.
If your Off-Road Bumper has 1 inch D-Ring bumper mounts you will need the item # BX88358.
For a wiring harness you will want the Roadmaster 4-Diode Universal Wiring Kit for Towed Vehicles - 7-Wire to 6-Wire Straight Cord item # RM-152-98146-7.
To keep your battery from dying while you are on your way to your destination I recommend the Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit for Towed Vehicles item # RM-156-25.
