How to Reduce Rear Sag on 2021 Ram 1500 While Using Weight Distribution From Dealer
Question:
I have a 21 Ram 1500 crew cab 4 wheel drive that has significant rear sag when I hook up my travel trailer. That is even with a dealer installed load distribution hitch. I see bump stop replacements and inner coil air bags as well as other, more extensive air bags. What should I use to lift the rear up and remove the sag?

Thank you for all of that information - I can definitely help you get your 2021 Ram 1500 towing setup leveled out!
The first thing to check is that your weight distribution system (WDS) is rated properly. We have found that the newer Ram pickups sometimes need suspension enhancement along with the WDS but dealers are unfortunately notorious for just tossing one in with little-to-no knowledge about choosing one that is the right weight range for the trailer. Your WDS should have a tongue weight rating that your loaded trailer tongue weight plus the weight of any cargo behind your Ram rear axle falls about in the middle of.
For example, the Blue Ox TrackPro # BLU77FR has a tongue weight range of 800 lbs - 1,000 lbs so you'll need to check on that with your end. Be sure your trailer tongue weight is 10-15% of the weight of your loaded trailer as well since that gives you the best towing experience.
If everything checks out with the weight distribution system then we can start looking into suspension enhancement. For your application the Timbren Kit # TDR1500DS is a great option because it replaces your factory bump stop and doesn't require any kind of maintenance - once installed you literally just forget about them being there and they do their job whenever needed.
