Recommended Air Springs For A 2005 GMC Sierra 2500 That's Been Lowered 3"
Question:
I have the Firestone Ride-Rite: 2250 Rear Kitinch installed on my 2005 GMC Sierra 2500HD Ext Cab long bed pickup. The truck is lowered 3inch with extended leaf spring shackles. Is there a recommended replacement shorter spring, and what is the part number, that can be retrofit to the existing brackets? I know mine are over 5 years old and arent in good shape anymore and prefer to replace with a shorter spring of the same capacity and psi range.

The only air springs we carry for a 2005 GMC Sierra 2500 that can accommodate your 3" drop is the Air Lift SlamAir Air Helper Springs for Lowered Trucks # AL59209. These only have a 2,000lb capacity compared to your 4,800lb # F2250. Since these are different brands they will not mount using the same brackets so this would require you to remove your current air springs and replace them with this kit.
This kit is designed for a 2" - 6" drop and have an adjustable air pressure of 10 psi - 100 psi, so you'll be most likely be able to reuse your air tubes and compressor.
