Comparing EZ Haul and Demco Kar Kaddy SS Tow Dollies for Storage

Question:

I have seen info on the EZ Haul Car Tow Dolly with hydraulic brakes. Is this a reliable dolly? We plan to do long trips to Florida and out west. We could store it in our garage with our car and I think it would be easier to store at campgrounds. I think it only requires 2 feet when it is standing.

The EZ Haul Car Tow Dolly with hydraulic brakes looks like a pretty straight-forward tow dolly that has entry-level quality that get's the job done. We don't carry this tow dolly so I can't speak to longevity but for what it is it seems to be a decent option.

Our best option for a reduced storage situation is the Demco Kar Kaddy SS Tow Dolly with Disc Brakes # DM9713045. This is actually a premium option that has folding ramps (as opposed to removing and storing them) and a foldable tongue that takes the overall length from 133" down to 67". This isn't near the 24" width that the EZ Haul boasts but this also means you're not having to lift the dolly into an upright position to reduce the profile - you just fold everything up and you're good to go. This tow dolly also has some other features like a steerable axle for better tracking behind your motorhome and a trailer jack with a wheel for easier maneuvering by hand, but I'll link our review video for you to reference for the full list of features to check out.

I recommend going with the Kar Kaddy SS over the EZ Haul because I think it will be the easier option to use in the long run but it obviously comes with a premium price tag so the real debate here is price vs function and what you're looking to get out of a tow dolly.
