Gooseneck Trailer Hitch and Wiring Harness For Towing With a 2021 Ford F-150

Question:

I’m interested in adding a gooseneck trailer hitch to my 2021 Ford F-150 6.5 foot bed, 157 cm wheel base to pull a two axel two horse gooseneck trailer. I have the max tow package and the max payload package. Ford is advising me to not add it. I’m wondering what your experience is. It looks like you sell gooseneck hitch assemblies designed for the F-150. I just want to ensure the truck can handle it safely before going forward. The max payload is around 3200 lbs, and max tow is 13,800 pounds. Thank you!

The B&W Turnoverball Underbed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch # BW77FR is the hitch I recommend using for your 2021 Ford F-150. As long as you are staying within the towing weight specifications given by Ford For your F-150 I do not see why they would be telling you not to tow with a gooseneck hitch. Be sure to verify the gooseneck/5th wheel towing capacities for your F-150 as these will be different than the conventional bumper tow ratings.

B&W does offer a 4" Offset Ball # BWGNXA4085 that will help you gain some additional turning clearance depending on your trailer design.

The Curt 5th Wheel/Gooseneck Custom Wiring Harness # C57008 will allow you to put a 7-way connector in your bed to connect the trailer. This will save you from risking damage to the connector or wiring from stretching over the tailgate while you drive.
