Thule OutWay Trunk Mount Bike Rack Does Not Fit Over Spoiler on 2008 Toyota Corolla
Question:
The fit dial settings on my Thule OutWay 2 that correspond to the 2008 Toyota Corolla don't let it fit over the factory spoiler. Is there another common/known setting that will work, or do I need a different bike rack? I've searched all over the web and all I find is that is should fit but no one saying it does or how they did it.

The platform style of the Thule OutWay, # TH65JV, is not the best option unless your 2008 Toyota Corolla has a metal bumper. This bike rack is heavy and after adding 2 bikes it will deform the bumper. If you have another OutWay model, like the # TH45JV then those are acceptable but regarding the spoiler there can be some fit issues. This is primarily because there appear to be different spoiler options.
There is no alternate fit dial setting to make it work so you would either have to try it out on different settings to get to one that works or, if no good setting can be found, use a different bike rack.
If you do decide on a different rack there are some that fit better that others on vehicles that have spoilers. I recommend the Yakima FullBack # Y02634. This rack is designed to avoid the spoiler completely. Check out the review video of this rack to see how it works.
