Parts Needed For Flat Towing 2010 Ford Edge AWD Behind A 2022 Coachmen Leprechaun Class C Motorhome
Question:
Is there a tow dolly that will work for towing a 2010 Ford Edge AWD behind a 2022 Coachmen Leprechaun class C?

Expert Reply:
Your 2010 Ford Edge AWD must be flat towed or towed on a trailer, it cannot be dolly towed. You will need a Blue Ox Base Plate Kit # BX2190 to connect to the front of your Edge. This will allow you to flat tow your Edge with the Blue Ox Alpha 2 Non-Binding Tow Bar # BX7380. You may need a high-low adapter like the Roadmaster # RM-048-4 as you need to keep the bars within 3" of level between your Edge and 2022 Coachmen Leprechaun.
You will need the Hopkins Custom Tail Light Wiring Kit # HM56000, Roadmaster 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Kit # RM-146-7, and Battery Charge Line Kit # RM-156-25 for the electrical on your Edge. These parts will operate the lights on your Edge from your Leprechaun as well as maintain the battery from draining while being flat towed.
The Demco Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System # DM86VR will operate the brakes on your Edge. The braking system is required and will help to save the brakes on your Leprechaun from wearing out or becoming damaged from the extra weight. Once you have it installed you will simply flip a switch when you are ready to flat tow your Edge.
Do be sure to follow the instructions listed in your owners manual for flat towing your Edge. This will ensure you do not damage any major components on your Edge.
