Replacement Powered A-Frame Jack to Replace 3,500 lb Jack that Failed

Question:

Hello, My 3500lb tongue jack failed on my 2021 TT and I need to replace it. Im wondering if it failed because I am lifting a Ford Excursion and my 850lb tongue weight. By the numbers this doesnt make sense to me but its all I got. The original jack is a FIC-ETJ3500. Can you recommend a different electric jack? Do you think a 3500 is too light for a Ford Excursion? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Trailer jacks do sometimes fail even when they are being used under their capacity so while it's a bummer that yours did I wouldn't say you did anything wrong and maybe just had some bad luck with yours.

For a replacement I really like the Phoenix Electric Trailer Jack part # UF38-944040 which has a slightly higher capacity at 4k but what I really like about it is that it is incredibly fast. It can fully extend or retract in less than 10 seconds. It also has a reputation as being very reliable and a 10 year warranty.
