It sounds like you're looking for an adapter like the Curt Trailer Connector Adapter - 4-Way to 7-Way RV and 4-Way Flat # C57672. The Curt adapter should be mounted to your vehicle. This will have both the 4-way and 7-way connection.

Since it sounds like you don't need the 12V power or brake output you can leave the additional connections disconnected. All you will need to do is plug in your existing 4-way to the 4-way plug on the adapter. Once this is done, the 7-way connector will have the functionality of your 4-way.
