Troubleshooting NC and Single Dot on Dispaly on Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Brake Controller
Question:
I am having an issue where all I see on the display is a single dot in the bottom middle of the display. At start up I get the NC whether I have any trailer attached or not, but after that once I start driving I only have one dot. I do not see this listed in the trouble shooting. Is this a wiring problem on the install, an issue in the unit, or something else?

The single dot you are seeing after the # 90885 screen flashes NC (not connected) is normal. This indicates that the boost is not on. If you boost was on you would see two dots instead. What is not normal is the NC message when the trailer is connected. If the trailer is connected you should have a c in addition to the one or two dots on the screen.
I recommend checking out the trailer connectors, which are likely the issue. You want to make sure both the vehicle and trailer connector are clean and free of debris or corrosion. I would also check the ground connections since a weak ground could be the cause of the error.
Assuming your connectors are in good shape and clean, and the ground connections are secure, It may be the brake wire. Go ahead and inspect the wire running from the connector to the brake magnets to see if you have any damaged wire or loose connections. You can also check the blue wire running from your brake controller back to the 7-way to make sure it isn't damaged as well.
I have attached a video for your reference. If you jump to the 4:30 mark you will see what you have described on the display of the P2.
