Axle Flip Kit for a 1988 Collins 5th Wheel
Question:
I have a 1988 Collins 5th wheel model #22084. It weighs 4700 lbs. The front sits high on my 2010 F350 super duty. On the last trip I had damage to the aluminum siding due to holes and bumps in the roads when the kingpin hit hard on the hitch. Any recommendations? Thank you.

To adjust your Collins 5th wheel sitting high in the front I recommend raising the rest of your trailer so it is level with your truck. If your axles are mounted above your springs you will be able to accomplish this by moving your axles to below your springs. This will raise your trailer by the diameter of the axle. If you have 3 inch axles you would want the Over Under Kit item # K71-385-00. If you have 2-3/8 inch axles you would want the Over Under Kit item # K71-384-00. Raising the rear end of your trailer to match the height of your kingpin should make for a smoother ride and prevent you from having anymore rough landings and damage to your siding.
