Can Atwood Air Conditioner AT15033-22 Control Furnace

Question:

Hi, we have a 2005 Damon Astoria diesel pusher looks like it originally had 2 Carrier rooftop A/C units each with their own remote control, but the rear bedroom unit was replaced right before we bought the camper last summer so it now has a Coleman Mach air conditioner back there with temperature and fan control knobs right on the ceiling. The rear A/Cis ductless, whereas the front unit is ducted through the ceiling… and it also controls the furnace heating through floor ducts with its mode or on the remote. The front one stopped working recently, with now only the fan mode doing anything it will call for the furnace to kick on when you put the temperature setting really high, but the furnace doesn’t light the propane flame. This all seemed to happen at the same time, so I imagine it’s a thermostat/control issue — as the furnace had been working before. I would like to replace the whole front unit, as electric heat through the ceiling ducts with a heat pump unit would be a great way to save on propane when it’s not freezing outside but chilly enough that we want some heat. My main question about this Atwood 15k BTU air conditioner with heat pump is this: does the thermostat system wire into the propane furnace and control 5 modes? Fan, cool, dry, heat pump, propane furnace Or would I have to get a separate thermostat for the furnace because it was controlled through the original Carrier air conditioner? My attached pictures show the ceiling unit that’s not working, the remote for it, and the propane furnace information from the outside panel. Thanks so much! I look forward to finding a good solution for our need.

The thermostat and remote of the Atwood Air Command Rooftop RV Air Conditioner w/ Heat Pump # AT15033-22 does come with ability to control a furnace like you need. You will be able to wire in your furnace's control wiring to the furnace so that it can be controlled.
