Can I Install the B&W Turnover Ball System w/ My 2006 Dodge Ram 2500's Bed Removed?
Question:
My truck is a 2006 Dodge Ram SLT 2500 4wd short bed. Bed was removed for frame blasting and painting. Is it fairly simple to install this hitch with the bed off? Im assuming the measuring and bed modification can be done once the hitch is in place? Just need to measure 3x and cut once, triple check all dims of course... Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for the help!

The B&W Turnoverball Underbed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch item # BWGNRK1313 for your 2006 Dodge Ram will be extremely easy to install without the bed on your truck. This is a custom fit kit which does not require drilling into your frame. You can make all modifications to your bed without it on your truck. The only cut you will have to make is a 4" diameter hole into your bed for the ball and then you will drill holes out for the safety chains. I have included a link below that shows this installation being completed on the same truck you have.
To make towing with a gooseneck easier I recommend adding the Curt 5th Wheel/Gooseneck Custom Wiring Harness w/ 7-Pole Connector - 10' Long item # C56001 to your 2006 Dodge Ram 2500. This harness puts a 7-way connector in the bed of your truck and allows you to keep the one on your bumper. This makes hooking up to your gooseneck trailer easier and more convenient.
If you plan on towing a 5th wheel you will need the B&W Companion 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ Slider item # BWRVK3400-5W.
