You should not have to go above the steps to remove the 4 bolts holding the Replacement Gear Box and A Linkage for Kwikee Electric RV Steps # LC379160 to the frame.

You are able to go underneath the steps, where the motor is located and use an appropriate sized socket to remove the 4 bolts.

After the bolts are removed, you can slide the entire assembly down through the bolts.
