Recommended Flat Towing Equipment For A 2001 Jeep Wrangler
Question:
Folks, I have a 2001 Jeep Wrangler that I want to set up to tow behind my motor home. Can you give me a list of all the items I would need to do that. I would like to have the tow vehicle braking system similar to the demco brand. Installed under the seat.

To flat tow your 2001 Jeep Wrangler you'll need a tow bar, baseplate, braking system, tow bar wiring kit, and safety cables. I have the following recommendations for you below:
Tow Bar: etrailer SD Non-Binding Tow Bar # e74ZR. The shank has built-in 1-1/2" rise or drop for additional adjustability to keep the tow bar level between the motorhome and Jeep.
Baseplate: Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit # RM-521424-5. Note: Not compatible with models with front leaf springs.
Tow Bar Wiring Kit: Roadmaster 4-Diode Universal Wiring Kit for Towed Vehicles # RM-152-98146-7.
Braking System: Since you want a fixed system similar to one of Demco's braking systems I recommend the Roadmaster InvisiBrake Supplemental Braking System # RM-8700. The actuator for this system can be installed under the seat just like you were wanting.
You'll also need a Brake Light Relay Kit # RM-88400 to prevent the brake signal from overriding your turn signals on the Jeep. The brake light switch wire you'll tap into is white/tan.
Safety Cables: These are already included in with the tow bar I recommended above.
