Width of Ramp for Yakima OnRamp Bike Rack

what is the width of the ramp? Is there sides to keep the tire from going over the edge of the ramp?

The ramp that comes with the Yakima OnRamp Bike Rack # Y36FR has an overall width of 2-1/2".

The inner width of the ramp is 2-1/8" for the actual ramp piece but the end caps have a 1-7/8" inner width (see attached photo).

The sides are raised to help keep the tires from going over the ramp. This is useful for skinnier tires but can make it a little tricky for loading bikes with wider tires - although you may be able to have the tires ride those raised sides if you have wider tires.
