Recommended Weight Distribution Shank For A 2-1/2 Inch Trailer Hitch

Question:

Distribution Reese shank 54970 I would like to know if the BXW 4002 and the BXW 4028 are both compatible I have a 2 1/2 inch receiver with a 2 inch spacer in it to accommodate the 2 inch shaft I need a . My recess shank now is six holes and need roughly 2 more holes to be level? I wanted to know if the 2 1/2 inch shank to the receiver changes anything as far as the front holes or is it just the same as a 2 inch just a bigger receiver part

When it comes to switching out your Reese distribution shank to a bigger one I would recommend going to The Blue Ox SwayPro Weight Distribution Shank for 2-1/2 inch Hitch - 9 inch Long - 9 Hole Adjustment # BXW4028. It is very similar to The Blue Ox Shank # BXW4002 but with it being a 2-1/2 inch hitch for safety reasons I would stick with the 2-1/2 inch shank. Using the 2-1/2 inch to 2 inch sleeve will give the system an extra breaking point which could effect the ride.

The # BXW4028 has a powder coated steel which resists corrosion. It has a maximum gross trailer weight up to 20,000 pounds and has a maximum tongue weight up to 2,000 pounds. The shank length from the center of the hitch pin hole to the center of adjustment hole is 9 inches.

I attached a review video link below.
