Chain Extender Recommendation for Swagman Original 4 Bike Towing Rack
Question:
Hi - I recently bought the swegmann towing bike rack and now need chain extensions for my trailer in combination with the bike rack. The roadmaster brand extensions you have should work but i am a little concerned about attaching my chain which ends in an open s-hook see pic to the extension and thought id ask if this was commonly done or if I should use something like a quicklink to attach the extension to the link before the s-hook? Thanks

Extending out the safety chains is definitely something that has to be done with the Swagman Original 4 Bike Towing Rack # S64675.
The RoadMaster 8" Safety Cable Extensions # RM-910648-8 will help get the job done but I do recommend picking up another pair of the Cable Connectors # RM-910022 so you can have one set directly connected to your chains (bypassing that S-Hook) and then another set connected to your safety chain loops. If you'd like to make connecting to the safety chain loops a little easier you can throw in 2 of the Snap Hook # RM-910031 for that side of things as well.
Please note the cable connectors are the least rated component at 6,000 lbs so you'll need to make sure your trailer doesn't weigh more than that for safety purposes.
