How Well Does The HitchGrip Carrying Tool Secure To The Hitch Ball?
Question:
Does this actually work well? Been thinking of a way to handle hitch easier. I typically leave it attached to truck when traveling and place bars in front storage compartment. My hitch shank has 3" of rise so tailgate stays up when hitch is attached. In the event I want to remove hitch and access rear truck bed, it would be nice to remove hitch head as easy as possible and with the least amount of strain on my back as possible. Appears the Hitchgrip can be unbalanced at times....I worry that the hitch can slip off the side of the Hitch grip and land on my foot, ruining a trip and sending me to ER!!! What are your thoughts?

The HitchGrip Carrying Tool # 303-HG-712 does make make it much easier to remove and install your hitch head for your weight distribution system. The long handle allows you position your hand where it can comfortably support the weight or be able to use 2 hands when lifting the hitch.
The design of the jaws that hold the hitch will secure the 2-5/16" ball when lifting. You will not have to worry about the hitch head slipping out of the tool unless it somehow became damaged.
