For a great jack to change a spare tire, I recommend the Powerbuilt Bottle Jack # ALL647501. This jack comes with a massive 24,000 pound weight capacity, so you don't have to worry about exceeding that limit. As far as lift height, it extends from 8-1/4" tall - 16-5/16" tall. I went ahead and attached a video of the jack being used to lift up a trailer.
