Is A Weight Distribution System Needed To Pull My 6,000lb Trailer With My 2022 Ford F-350?

Question:

I have a 2022 F350 and a 6k pound 30’ RV. Do I need a WD hitch to pull that less than a 100 miles? I had a F150 with a WD hitch and the sway bars. That truck definitely needed the WD and sway control, but not sure if my new truck does. Thanks for your help.

Anytime a trailer's fully loaded weight is over 50% of the tow vehicles gross weight it is recommended to use a weight distribution system.

I went ahead and found that your 2022 Ford F-350 has a GVWR range of 10,100lbs - 12,400lbs. If your trailer fully loaded is under 6,200lbs, then you don't technically need a WDS, but it wouldn't hurt to have one.

If you're interested in a WDS, the Reese Pro Round Bar Weight Distribution w Sway Control # RE44FR is a great option that'll work for you, and will create a more balanced and level ride

This system has a gross towing weight capacity of 11,500lbs, a tongue weight capacity range of 600 lbs - 1,150 lbs, and a includes the head with preinstalled ball, a shank, sway control brackets, spring bars, lift-assist bar, and all necessary hardware.
