Can The MaxxAir Maxxfan Deluxe Be Mounted Backwards On A Trailer

Question:

I installed my Maxx air deluxe today and ran I to an issue with it hitting the black tank vent when I’m the closed position. I took the screws out and mounted the fan with the opening towards the front. Obviously I know I cannot travel with it open but is it safe to mount this safe and travel with it closed?

Per the manufacturer, the MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan # MA00-07500K can only be placed with the louvers (back opening portion) facing the rear of the trailer. Any damage to the vent caused by it being incorrectly installed would void the manufacturer warranty.

I actually ran into this a couple weeks ago doing an install. I got the old roof vent off and grabbed the # MA00-07500K to put up in the opening and the cover was 2" too long and came into contact with another cover on the roof. I ended up swapping the vent out with the MaxxFan Mini Plus Manual RV Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan # MA00-03851 so that he could still use the vent in any weather or while driving.
