Can Dexter Nev-R-Adjust Brake Assemblies be Used with Boat Trailer

Question:

What drums do you recommend with the Item # K23-472-473-00 kit? Any detail you need about the trailer? The old hydraulic drums have HD1377 on them? They fit the electric brakes but are really rusty and old.

Yes, the Dexter Nev-R-Adjust Electric Trailer Brake Kit # 23-468-469 that you referenced can be used on a boat trailer. I know what you are probably thinking...and that dipping electric brakes in water when backing the boat down the ramp is a bad idea, but it actually is very rarely an issue. People do it all the time and everything works just fine. To be extra cautious some people unplug their trailer wiring when backing down the ramp but most don't even think twice about it and are totally fine.

We have had a customer with your same UFP hub HD-1377 successfully use as a replacement the hub/drum # AKHD-545-35-K which works on 3500-lb axles. This hub uses inner bearing # L68149 (1.378" inner diameter) and outer bearing # L44649 (1.063" inner diameter). If your original hub bearing numbers or inner diameters match this will work fine.
