Can I Use My Thule Surfboard Pads with My Thule AirScreen XT Fairing?

Hello there! I just purchased thule surfboard pads, my son bought me a set of Thule deflector Airscreen XT L , is there any way to keep my front surfboard pads on while im using the airscreen xt , is it even compatible with surfboard pads?...?..i dont want to have a bare crossbar to carry my boards, any suggestions?

While we do have a great solution for you if you are set on using your AirScreen XT Fairing # TH82WV on your crossbars, you cannot use the Thule surf pads at the same time as your fairing. This is because the pads require full unobstructed access to the bars.

With that being said, since the spacing of the clamps on the fairing are about 11" apart, this is plenty of room to attach a saddle-mount carrier like the Thule DockGrip # TH895. The cradles lift the kayak above the bars, so you do not need to worry about your surfboard interfering with the fairing. The DockGrip fits boards up to 36 inches wide. As far as crossbar compatibility, the DockGrip fits crossbars as long as they don't exceed 3-1/8" wide x 1" tall. They also have hardware included to fit crossbars with top channels. In order to make sure your bars fall within these dimensions, I recommend measuring the width and height.
